Africa is experiencing the harsh realities of climate change; from extreme weather events and droughts to rising food insecurity. While contributing less than 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, the continent is among the most affected regions worldwide. To address these challenges, Africa is stepping up as a global climate leader through the Africa Climate Summit 2 (ACS-2)
What is ACS-2?
The Africa Climate Summit 2 (ACS-2) is hosted by the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) in collaboration with the African Union (AU). This high-level summit provides a platform for African nations to amplify their voice, align priorities, and champion home-grown solutions for adaptation and mitigation.
It also serves as a critical milestone ahead of COP30, ensuring that Africa’s unique challenges and opportunities shape the global climate agenda.
