Education and ECD

PCDP is dedicated to ensure inclusion of all communities and engage even the vulnerable groups in the communities. For example, PCDP works with schools to ensure inclusion of students abled differently where they are involved in different PCDP events. Children have not been at the forefront in activities concerning climate change although they are the future generations who will face the challenges. Thus, PCDP aims to include children in climate change practices to create awareness and educate them on benefits of addressing climate change and developing climate-resilient practices.

This is achieved by facilitating children in schools with smart gardens and advocating for restoration of the environment to ease the impacts of climate change. By involving children in addressing climate change and protection of the earth, we believe that the earth will be protected even by future generations through the responsible cohorts.

Also, PCDP works in areas with excluded communities and persons like the pastoralists in Laikipia to enhance their economic activities despite the unceasing climate change effects. For example, PCDP helps dairy farming by educating farmers on sustainable fodder growing and animal feed storage through silage making and storage. This helps to ensure that farmers have sustainable storage practices for their livestock while also advocating for climate adaptive
